CodeMonk
This is not Epi related. But since I know there are alot of people on here that like GFS pickups, its related to that. I have a Strat (mexican, 1996-1997). I'm looking at these pickups for it: GFS Pickups Anyone tried these. I like the stock pickups fine, just want to try something different. I'm thinking those or their Texas special clones. Oh...and I'm going to be running through one of 3 amps: Vox AD30VT (if I can fix it), Vox AD50VT, Vox AC30CCH (the head through 2x12 Celestion G12K-85's) And...I usually use my Strat for playing blues (or when I wanna do some whammy bar stuff). Biff
Got the GFS '64 Stagger Texas Grey Bottom (I64) set for my Mexican. Definitely great pickups for a few bucks and a serious upgrade to the standard pickups. Just right for the blues. Still, since this still is an Epiphone forum, have to say I love my Epiphone LP Custom a whole lot more (wink wink, for trigger happy admins) :)
CodeMonk
I love my Epi (Ebony LP Standard with GFS FAT PAT pu's) I use my Epi mostly for classic rock stuff, and some blues. And I wanna get an SG (G-400), a Dot, 57 Goldtop RI, and uhm......oh hell...everything. Wish I could afford it but that AC30 tapped out my GAS funds for the time being. But a G-400 or a dot will be my next guitar purchase. Unless I can find (please don't kill me) an Ibanez S470DXQM with an amber finish).
