Ian Martin Posted June 17, 2008 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Depends. Overall, they were fine. They were a little abrasive and really crunched up under high gain. But I was looking for more of a vintage tone with lower output, which is why I switched to a '57 Classic in the bridge. Sounds great, but being lower output I have to push my amp harder to get it to distort. Are you looking to purchase a Standard? I'd suggest trying one before you buy.
