wiggy Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 I've always thought the wood on my Dot Studio didn't look like maple and just noticed on the specs that, unlike the Regular Dots, the Studio is mahogany ply. Mind you I've no idea what's in the middle of the sandwich but that ceratinly must account for some of the distinctive darker sound of the studios. TWANG Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 I thought they were maple with a mahogany veneer...but I wouldn't doubt you.. or the specs... because of the tone, though the pups may be different, too. those are cool guitars esp. for that kind of money.
