dubstar
I'm posting this here for a quicker response... my EJ-300S has developed a slight fret buzz on the low E...it is noticeable when 1st through 8th are fretted and appears to be either the 9th or 10th fret...the guitar plays very well aside from this... action is about 2mm at the 12th for the low E...I am about to restring and wonder if a slight paper shim under the saddle in the low E location will clear this up at all...thanks
Bender 4 Life
If you've checked the neck, and it doesn't need adjustment, then perhaps 1/2 of a flat toothpick under the low E end of the saddle would work.
dubstar
I believe the neck is good, as everything else is fine and seems to be adjusted correctly...toothpick sounds good but maybe a bit much? what about heavier card stock, like a business card? Dave
Common issue. High fret in that area. You can check with a business card. Look for a spot that rocks when you span 3 frets. The high fret is the one in the middle if it rocks, and if you are lucky, you can tap it down. Or, it could just be that the action is too low. dubstar
thanks...is that type of fret adjustment capable of being done by non-luthiers such as myself?
