I'll upgrade it anyway you want at excellent price. free strat style single coil pickup added in the neck position. black or white cover on that pickup free, too. or I can leave it uncovered. And I copper foil wrap it for shielding. and I route the body and the guard to fit it. no free humbucks though..! in fact, I should mention the guard. .anyone know if a strat size single coil would be too wide? I've got tele neck pups.. I bet they'd fit. sure, you'll still have to pay shipping from me, to you.. take that into consideration. probably 15.00 tops on a guitar that size, insured. But what you'd save on grover tuners, new pots.. *free wiring and sprague orange drop caps*, etc., plus the free neck pickup would easily make up for that. God I think I just talked myself into one. TWANG Posted December 1, 2008 Author Share Posted December 1, 2008 I've used both tape and paint.. you just have to do two or three coats with paint. single coils pick up less noise if shielded for sure.. humbucks not so much. you have efi and rfi.. electronic interference and radio interference.. you know.. like a tv or pc screen, short wave radio, cb radio.. I always sheild paint single coil guitars and then wrap the coils with shield tape, too. they're much more prone to noise. humbuck is just what it implys. bucks the hum! so less problematic there. and often have metal covers, while strats have plastic, so that helps, too.
