Hey all--I have a 1956 Les Paul Goldtop with the P 90's and have noted something unusual--with each pickup on separetly the individual string volumes are very close--but when I have both pickups going my D string volume on any fret is lower than any of the other five--I'm guessing probably 25% lower--anyone have any ideas on this--thank's--George

That is odd, I haven't experienced that before. Are your strings old, or the originals. It could be something a simple as a bad string, but that doesn't make sense that it wouldn't be affected when the pickups were on individually. Are the pole pieces for the D string lower than the others? Maybe the contact on the switch needs to be cleaned. I really have no idea, I'm just fishing here.
