Repairs on a 5102TE

How would/could anyone access the volume and tone pots on this Epi 5102TE?

I was able to access the toggle switch through the pick-up holes, but getting to the volume

and tone pots and 1/4" jack plug seems to be an impossibility...

Could it be that these are put in place before the whole thing is glued up?

Do I just use my 6 yr. old son to get his arms down through the treble pick-up hole?

BTW..Hollow body f-hole, arch top/back, no access plates. WTF?

lucky you have a 6 year old with small hands...LOL

All the work you are talking about IS done thru those F holes.

There are several youtube videos showing how it is done, on about every make and model of semi-hollow and hollow body guitars made.

There are a bunch of helpful folks on the forum here that have done it..wait and you will get plenty of helpful tips from them...good bunch of guys.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your upgrades.

I've used wire, kite string and even soldering wire. But threading it through the pot and jack holes and pulling the components through is

the only way.

you put the wire/string through the component hole.. and then you have to figure out a way to pull the component through the f hole and still get the wire/string off..

and then pull each part in order through with each string.. without breaking any solder connections or crossing any wires.

So the first bit is very important.. good connections, well thought out wiring.

It takes patience, but it's doable!

And capt is right. check out the youtubes, and any pictorials you can find.

and post in here. .a few people have done it successfully and will help, I'm sure.
