Epiphone LP Standard + amp

Hey guys, im gonna buy epiphone lp standard plus soon, im gonna change pickups for seymour duncans alnico 2 pro. I would like to sound approx. like slash, jimmy...but im still not sure about amp. i gonna put like £500 in the amp. What would you recommend? And do you think that pickup change is worth it? Thanks for reply

I changed the pickups in my Epi LP standard to SD AlnicoII Pros. Well worth it.

 

As far as amps, a good Marshall tube amp should get you there. I'm thinking old JCM800, Silver Jubilee 25th anniversary serie etc.

Got to be a tube amp. If it's for home use, something low output so you can crank it up. If you're after something you can gig with, you'll need 30w plus, but you won't get quite the same tone at bedroom volume. If you're going to spend £500 just on the amp a Marshall DSL is affordable and will get you there.
