EpiSheriMan
Just something to contemplate. The B7 is a heavy sucker' date=' and will make the guitar unbalanced[/quote'] I disagree. The B7 is not too heavy and it actually balances out my Sheraton - I no longer get that "head dive" with her.... :)/
jcwillow777
Does a Casino with a Bigsby stay in tune fairly well? mgm I can't speak for a Casino, I don't have one. But, I have B-70s on my Dot, Sherry and Agile AL-3100. I really don't have any tuning problems. I also have a roller bridge on all 3.
mortzestus
Does a Casino with a Bigsby stay in tune fairly well? mgm I installed a B7 on mine (Korea 95) and it stays in tune even better than before but I also installed a new set of tuners at the same time (Grover Imperials' date=' following some advice I got here). I didn't even consider to put the Bigsby on while keeping the standard tuners, they felt kind of cheap and I was having some tuning problems [i']before[/i] doing the Bigsby job. Also, I think that the added weight of the new tuners might do something to counter the balance issues people have mentioned in this thread. Finally, I decided against a roller bridge and went for a Nashville style (TonePros) instead. Right now my Casino stays in tune like a charm. 229someday
My guitar guy put a B7 on my Elitist Casino and I'm loving it. The B7's (or the B70 equivalent) do require drilling the top, but I can't imagine ever taking it off so that didn't bother me. Mine was very neck heavy (maybe the Grover tuners?), and the B7 really balanced it out. My tech suggested a roller-bridge, but I talked him into filing the saddles a bit instead and it seems to be working great. It stays in tune as well as my Gibson Country Gentleman did, which had the ABR-1 bridge, though the B7 has more tension than the B6 on my Gibson (probably due to the increased angle inherent with the tension bar). I think the flatwounds I have on it also help reduce the drag on the strings from the standard saddles.
