Tubes loose? Tubes need replacing? Something else all together? My EVJr (bought used) rattled when warmed up (not when cold), and rattled louder with volume. Sound went away with new tubes of a different brand. I had 2 different Sovtek EL84's that "rattled" .... The JJ replacement doesn't rattle....................................yet Worth a try, but could be many things, I guess..... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
m-theory Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 He's got plate rattle in one or more of the output tubes. At some point in one or more of those tubes, the plate isn't fully secured, and high volume causes a vibration that makes it rattle within the glass.
