229someday
More Riviera Pics here In a moment of Ebay-induced weakness I plopped down some cash on a vintage Kay Thin Twin (damn you T. Bone Burnett), so I'm going to have to sell my Epiphone Riviera. Through some emails here I've figured out the year to be 1982 from the serial number 2032117 and the "division of Gibson Kalamazoo" sticker inside. I can't find any comparable guitars on Ebay and I haven't had luck on Gbase either, so I'm hoping for some help here on establishing a value. It does have a case and it includes the original humbuckers (code "61" on the back and full leads), but it's wired up with newer Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90's at the moment (planning on selling it this way and including the original pups). It does have some nicks and scrapes, but overall it's in very good condition with no issues. It was recently set up and had all the frets leveled and dressed, so it plays beautifully, but I just have one too many guitars at the moment and the Visa man needs to be paid. Any clue on a fair asking price? Thanks.
mgrmatt
You have a gorgeous Riviera and you don't see many from that era. I'm no expert but I always am hawking ebay for Riviera's and the only one that I've seen on ebay was another 82 kind of a Plumb color in about the same condition went for $780.00. Good luck, you shouldn't have any problems selling it! mgm
229someday
Thanks for the info Matt, I appreciate it. If it's at all possible for me to hold on to it I will, as I really do love the neck (a little wider than the 1 5/8" on my Casino, so it's probably 1 11/16", and a nice, comfortable curve. It reminds me a little of the neck on a newer Japanese Gretsch Tennessee Rose I sold some time ago, though these frets are wider (an improvement over the Gretsch for sure). mgrmatt
I don't blame you 229,if you were to let it go you would have a hard time finding another. I know just what your saying about the neck, It is a tad deeper and wider than the Casino. The Riviera's neck profile varies a bit from the Supernov, the supernova is a bit wider and not quite as deep. mgm
