carb0
Hi! I saw a great review of the Firebird Studio (as seen ) and it seems like a good guitar. However, I have a question about the neck; can it be compared with a Fender "C"-shape neck or is it more like the Modern "C"-shape? Since my local music stores don't have the Firebird Studio I also wondered if there are any other Epiphone models with basically the same neck? Thanks! RotcanX
If you're looking for a particular neck profile then you need to try before you buy. One thing about Epi neck profiles is they are inconsistent. This is partly due to the different manufacturers and also contingent upon the actual manufacturing date; for example an EE G-400 has a very slim '60s neck these days but prior to 2008 they were a bit thicker. On the other hand I have an Unsung " '65" G-400 that has a big baseball bat '50s profile. The DW instruments fall somewhere in between.
carb0
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I can't try it before; I was planning on ordering one online, but perhaps that is to much of buying a pig in a poke, since I am after a relatively slim neck. Does anyone know how it is with the Firebird Studios, and who has made them? How do you go about to find out the manufacturer?
Muskank Sally
My Epi Firebird Studio has a thinner neck profile then my Epi G-400 Custom. There is a noticeable difference when held and played.
