robintiba Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Hello everyone I'm new here to the forums. 5 days ago, I bough myself an epiphone Les Paul Standard and the last days , I've been getting very much problems with tuning my guitar. When I'm tuning my guitar, i hear creepy sounds from the knobs for the treble strings, and as soon as I've finished tuning it and are going to play, my guitar becomes detuned in an instant! How do I fix this problem because this makes me very sad..!
Axe2Grind123 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Check out this thread for starters - great info here ==> http://forums.epiphone.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=10018
BlueLesPaul2006 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 You might want to check the tightness of the screw that holds the tuning knob on. the tighter that screw the harder it is for you to turn the tuner. you may want to loosen the screw a little and see if it helps. that is where i would start. i have had tuning problems and by adjusting this screw solved the problem.
rockstar232007 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I have the SAME problem with mine, especially the high E string. The best thing to do is to take it to a good music store and have them swap out the tuning keys, with some WAY better ones, like Gotohs, or Schallers.
