Sg_Special Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Ok on my SG Special (haha i hate it cant afford a new one ) I checked it serial number MC22070175 on http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx and it said this: Guitar Info Your guitar was made at the Muse Plant, China July 1922 Production Number: 0175 Muse Incorporated Muse Incorporated has been in existence for 10 years, Headquartered in Inchon, Korea, with additional plants in Weifang, China. Muse builds guitars, basses and amplifiers. It was made in 1922? but Muse Incorporated has only been in existence for 10 years?, Headquartered in Inchon, Korea? WTH thats just werid just wondering if anyone could explain this to me... i don't know alot about guitars
Axe2Grind123 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 the SG model didn't exist in the 1920s! Must be a mistake
RobinTheHood Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Thats the weirdest GuitarDaterProject info I've ever seen. Never heard of the Muse plant, but even odder, is that Guitar Dater says that most of their info only goes back as far as 1932, I believe. Are you sure you selected the "Epiphone" GuitarDater section? EDIT: Nevermind, I double checked it. Very strange.
Sg_Special Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 yea i do relise this and im like WTF what is up with this... when i found that out it led to more to me thinking its a fake maybe it means 2022? llol EDIT: yes i did select epiphone it has the link i went to up the the top post
RobinTheHood Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I ommited the first three digits (MC2) and came up with this: Your guitar was made in Korea July c.1992 Production Number: 0175 I'm not saying it is correct, but it makes a lot more sense.
Axe2Grind123 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah I think Marty McFly used to play a 2022 SG . . .

[/quote'] yea it does make more sense i was reading other peoples problems with simallar guitars cause it has happened and they all said they were fakes but the Epiphone logo was different to the real one but this one looks exact match
RobinTheHood Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 The likelyhood of a counerfeit SG Special is slim. It is Epiphones' bottom SG model and not really counterfeit fodder. But not impossible, either. Can you post some pics?
Sg_Special Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Not today i have to charge the batteries for my camera cause i don't use it that much... [Edit] added Pictures [Edit] http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8260/1000254s.jpg http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/6706/1000253m.jpg
