Swoop Posted October 19, 2009 Author Share Posted October 19, 2009 Well I've been playing the SG and Firebird for much of the afternoon, and have fallen in love again. I do prefer the SG with th .022 Caps. And both sound excellent with moderate distortion. The SG is such a beast, it breaks up a little even on the clean channel. Might just be the volume settings I have too, causing the tubes to overdrive a little. I do prefer the .022 Caps in the SG, it just makes it sound less metally. I tweaked the setups on both of them a little as well, and now they feel much nicer, and every bit as good as my Strat and Casino. And of course, if I want to wail again, all I have to do is dial up some more gain and both of them are ready for it. I think I'll change the pickgaurd on the SG to the full face one too, if I can find one that fits. I sorta want to change up the look of it a bit, I haven't been digging the small pickguard recently, and I think it'll look great with the large style guard.
