mrktwn
Use Schallers. Thats what I have on my Explorer, they work great. Very easy retro-fit as well. No additional or larger holes needed.
Hydra26
I'll second that. I use schallers on all mine. YOu use the original screw the gutiar came with for the front strap button and the schalelr screw for the rear. Works like a charm, no additional drilling. GiJofus
^^ Thanks fellahs! I really should have researched and definately asked here before I bought them, Oh well, I guess I could sell them and buy some Schaller's. Thanks for the big help. Disaster Averted! GiJofus
I know I should probably start a new thread, and I'm sorry to go on with my little dilemma, but I may need a little further help... The '80 Explorer E2 in question has three strap-pins... (Of-course the normal tail-pin and the front pin) But I hook my strap onto the one just this ----> side of the neck joint on the back of the guitar. The question, thus: 1. Will the Schaller straplocks placement (particularly screwing into the backside neck joint) affect the security of the locks, as they may be in contact with my guts often? Once again thanks for previous help and sorry for any inconvenience. Regards, Joe.
