When i plugged into my casino , i think i plugged it it with a little more force than usual and as a result the input jack has broken as the washer and nut has came off. Also i now think something is broken inside as i sometimes here something moving about inside the guitar. When i go to plug the guitar in the input jack is too loose. Is this a serious problem ? any help appreciated ;)

Have you tried to put the nut and washer back on?

If it is not stripped, it should get tight enough to hold it in position.

Make sure you're not turning the jack, you'll tear the wires off.

If you get it to that point, carefully insert the pointed handle of a file into the jack, being

very careful not to push too hard, or go too far into the jack. A larger file is better.

This should hold it while you turn the nut tight.

As to what is rattling around in there, it is probably the other washer.

I don't know what your skill level is when it comes to tools, so you may

have to take this in to be repaired.

Thanks ' date=' but do you think this can be fixed ?[/quote']

Relax - unless you've damaged the wood around the jack (as sometimes happens - mostly with SGs for some reason), you've got nothing to worry about.

Epi jacks are pretty crap anyway, in my experience. Changing it is probably a good thing.

If you can't fix it with the original parts as the other poster suggested, just take it to your local guitar shop. Any tech worth his salt should be able to fix that in a matter of minutes, and without charging you very much money.
