You're probably right, but you set me thinking. I bought a G-400 when I was a Grad student in the US. Brought it home with me, and then some time later traded it against a used Gibson LP Studio. So somewhere in England there's an Epiphone with a "100% set-up and inspected in the US" sticker on the headstock. I suppose no piece of evidence on its own is conclusive.
