Casino4Life
I've got a 2005 Casino from the Peerless factory and I have been wanting to upgrade the stock P-90's with Gibson USA's. Will the stock chrome covers fit? Or will I need to search to find them. Im trying to make it as close as possible to Lennon's, I just had some Grovers put on. Any help would be appreaciated. Brandon 2005 Epiphone Casino[/quote'] I do not think they'll fit, the pole spacing is different. Plus you should have nickel covers, not chrome. If you could find a set of the pickups from the Lennon Casinos, that would be the closest. But good luck finding them. Kent Armstrong makes an excellent Casino set, but they're chrome. But instead of spending a couple of hundred bucks on new pickups, you might want to check out the inspired by Lennon Casinos with nickel USA pickups for $999. Realize that the Lennons have a totally different construction than the standard Korean Casinos, 5 ply birch/maple tops as opposed to the standard 3 ply maple standards, so your Peerless will sound different even with the same pickups. So if getting it close as possible to JLs is that important to you... Welcome to the camp
Casino4Life
That is quite true, if I had the extra $999 I would but Ill stick with what I got, besides I suppose the stock P-90s are not that bad Brandon 2005 Epiphone Casino 2005 Gibson SG 2005 Epiphone DR-200S

I think the top on the standards contributes more to the sonic difference than the pickups. I had a standard Casino, I think it was a Peerless as well, and then I had a chance to get an Elitist. Acoustically, they sounded way different, and I believe that acoustic difference makes the difference more so than the pickups. You drop a couple of hundred on new pickups, and you might not get the results you're expecting.
bluelake07
You could have the pickups rewound by Lollar, JS Moore, Fralin, Curtis Novak to name a few and have them wound to a vintage resistance (Gibson P90 is 8.3K) ohms compared to the MIK resistance of around 11.5K. Casino4Life
Yeah I think I will stay with the stock P-90s and save up for either a John Lennon 1965 or a Elitist to get the american gear
