Dot, Sheraton or Casino

I went with the Sheraton every time, prettier than the dot imho and I got a MIK blonde Sherri used for a steal. Casino not great in a band situation due to hollow body. I've tried that too, big problems!

Anyway, hope you're happy with the dot, they are great.

Re. your amp. If you're on a budget, the Fender SCXD really punches above it's weight, particularly if you're prepared to change tubes and speaker, it's hard to beat at over twice the price. I've not read a bad review and I can vouch myself. The vox ad or vt series is great but a bit sterile over time. The Fender has 3 tubes, 1 in the preamp and 2 in the power amp, the vox has 1. Whatever the difference in what they do (as they are both hybrids to an extent) more tubes involved has to make it more tube like, it's logic. The scxd has a decent vox sound you can use and the vox does a decent fender but if you want a fender sound primarily, go fender and if you want vox, go vox. It all depends on how you play and what you like.

If you're planning alot of live work and money is tight, don't get one yet, save up for something 30-40+ watts for a tube amp. Again, look at the main brands for a classic sound and you'll never go wrong.

i bought a fender deluxe reverb tube amp when i bought my new american strat the amp sounds incridible for clean reverbery tones but i realised that i needed a smaller amp to go room to room and such. and was not crazy about dragging the deluxe around. so, i went out and bought a fender vibro champ xd amp and really am impressed at how great it sounds even tho its only 6 watt tube power.(2 tubes =12ax7 +6v6) after i bought the amp gas kicked in and bought me a new korean dot and absoutly love it. it sounds great thru either amp and, even tho i play mainly straghit thru the amps clean, the distortion positions on the champ allows me to metal out when i want to. and it gets pretty loud too. my deluxe sits in corner with the cover on now cos when i get urge to plug in and play, i always go for my vibro champ. also, i find myself playing my dot wayy more than my stratocaster. looove my guitars..(and amps) PLAY ON!

i wonder why that is,

unfortunately, i cant put my dot down, and cant pick my les paul up. im so used to the fat neck already :(
