Hi Guys,Being a guitar player of many years I decided to buy the guitar that I had always wanted but for whatever reason never got round to buying (my big like BIG mistake) a Casino. Oh man what a sound.

Ok now the question I want to ask is, I paid £449.00 uk. I dont really know how much in US dollers this would be, but It's the new made in china model. The hardware is all nickel plated, pickups are wax potted, looks like a switchcraft switch, all pots are what we would call standard size(not as big as your pinky finger nail) work great no blank spots or sudden volume dips, tone controls work perfect.no strange noises vibrations, beautifull fret job,.intonation and neck relief spot on. Now I thought that Casinos came with chrome hardeware crap switch, pots, poor setup ect.Can anybody explain whats going on?

And To you guys at Epiphone what a fantastic guitar for the money.

CR, there are several levels of Casino quality and price - which one did you get?

449 GBP = about $679, so it could either be a Standard Casino or an IBJL. The IBJL has nickel (not chrome) hardware, Switchcraft jack and switch, quality pots and wiring. The Standards have the usual Asian stuff.

In any case, see post #2 in this thread for a better picture of the various recent versions (does not include the pre-Gibson vintage issues): http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=13010

If the cross reference table doesn't show up full res, hit refresh.

Hi Brianh.

Yea, the casino is just a standard chinese model. The IBJL costs around $1000 here in the uk,around £700.

Thats why I have been a little confused over the quality of the hardware on this model. Now, I sure aint complaining about this, Its just I cant see what the difference Is between the IBJL apart from the different color on the back (no burst ).
