winterland
Last week I switched the stock pickups and electronics in my DOT to Seymour Duncan SH1N/B 59s w/CTS pots. After several unsuccessful attempts to get the back through the f-hole and into their respective spots I recruited a friend to help. A few hour later w/the help of four hands, one long screwdriver, and a very strong magnet we were able to get everything back in place. Although it was quite a struggle to get this all done, it was absolutely worth it. The combination of new CTS electronics and the pups has completely changed the tone of my DOT. The sound is much brighter and the response when plucking a string is much crisper. I am sure there are many pup combinations that work well with the DOT, but the SD 59s seem to be the perfect compliment to this guitar.
lpfan
Awesome! There is nothing better than the satisfaction of a job well done and the results of that hard work. Post some audio clips of it later if you ever get a chance.
