Warren_Hero
Is that just a finish crack or an actual neck crack, it is listed on a n auction site and is listed as a hairline crack
brad1
No way to tell from just that pic. But it looks like more than a hairline to me. Looks like several hairline cracks stemming from one main one. That could indicate the finish. But you never know. That's also a common spot for the headstock to break off. I wouldn't touch it if I was you. Too risky. Sjael
My advice: Don't trust a crack at the nut, unless it's a great deal and you plan to repair it anyway. And another Kiwi, we will surely take over soon enough.

animalfarm
Is that just a finish crack or an actual neck crack' date=' it is listed on a n auction site and is listed as a hairline crack[/quote'] Welcome to our playhouse! ACTUALLY, it's Epi1's playhouse, but he lets us use it!!!! Looks like git took a Headstock hit... I just finished a project involving repairing a "cracked neck", BUT my purchase price was dirt cheap. (Note the pix of cracks at opening posts of thread). http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=14912 Before proceeding - 1. Do you own any other guitars? Are you looking for a possible project guitar? If this would be your one and only git.... Nah. 2. An on-line auction? Seller is out to make max cash? Unless you can get it for a small $$$ outlay AND are looking for something to fix, forget it. 3. Are other folks bidding on this particular guitar? Some folks love to fix guitars (for the right price). 4. If you've never done this kind of repair before, DO NOT shell out big $$$ - just get a NEW one/or one without flaws.
