zerobox94
Well first off, I'm new to the forums and I've played guitar for a while now, but this is my first electric guitar. I bought the Epiphone Casino Natural and the knobs were messed up so I had to change them. I bought these online: http://www.amazon.com/Gibson-Guitar-Knobs-Metal-Insert/dp/B0038SA772/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1276871583&sr=8-1 Will they work since they're Gibson, because I bought other Gibson knobs and they were EXTREMELY hard to put on, so they didnt fit and I assume they weren't it. And if they won't, which knobs will?

And if they won't, which knobs will? No they won't fit. Splines are the grooves on the shaft that the knobs slide on, USA pots have finer splines than the metric pots used on imports. There are 24 splines on USA pots, 18 on metric. You can see the difference in this photo: You need metric knobs made for imports. Check out Guitar Fetish or Stewart-MacDonald both sell knobs with coarse splines (as do many others).

Vic Flick
Oh man' date=' ok. Would I be able to change the splines then?[/quote'] No, that's a part of the pot. You have three options: a) Force the Gibson knobs on your present pots. Downside, you could break the knob or you might break the pot. And if you do jam them on, they probably wouldn't sit right. Plus, you'll have a hard time removing them. Not recommended. Buy a set of USA pots. Downside, rewiring the guitar is a pain and CTS/Gibson pots would cost more than simply buying a proper set of knobs. And you might have to enlarge the holes in the body to accommodate the thicker shafts. Upside, CTS/Gibson pots are top quality. c) Buy a set of knobs that will fit the stock pots. Easy, cheap, neat & clean.

I'm gonna have to return the knobs I bought and buy some off guitarfetish.com. Is it a trustworthy website?

Markwell
zerobox94, when you say the knobs are messed up, how do you mean? I think I may have the same issue on my Casino. Basically, if I look at the knob, and turn it, the edge varies in it's height from the top of the guitar as it turns. The knob is on lopsided, and isn't always exactly perpendicular to the top. Does anybody know whether this is due to how the knobs were put on (maybe in a hurry), or that the actual pot shaft comes out of the top at an off angle? I'll probably have the pots replaced at some point, but that'll be a while from now.
Notes_Norton
Jerrymac's advice was spot on, and I've done business with both Guitar Fetish and Stewart-MacDonald and they both were reliable and they both have excellent reputations. Have fun with your Casino, it's a great guitar (I have one, too). Notes ?

Gibson knobs use a different measuring system since they're made in the USA. They go in lopsided.
