nickammo
I've had my Casino for a few months now. I bought it off e-bay. It's 1 year old. I like the way it plays, but the tuners have been trouble since I got the guitar. The high E tuner already broke and I had to find a quick replacement. Now, I need to buy a whole set to actually keep this guitar in tune and make it playable. Which brand/model of tuners have people been using? My goal is to spend less than $75 on the tuners. Please give specifics as to brand/model. My goal is to do as little drilling to the guitar as possible.
bynapkinart
I got some genuine Kluson single-line tuners in my Casino that hold tune great and required no additional drilling. They were like $45-$50 on eBay. I'm a sucker for that style tuner though...I know you can get Grovers for somewhere around $75, but in my opinion they always felt fat, cheap and loose (ha ha). I like 'em skinny and hard to fiddle with (again, ha ha). Looking back at what I just typed, it seems that I stopped making sense whilst in the pursuit of double entendres (Belgian White Ale...mmmm). Basically, Klusons take less turning to get into tune, at the sacrifice of fine tuning ability. No floyd or whammy on a Casino, so no sense in getting Sperzals or some other locking tuner. nickammo
Will these work for my MIC Casino from 2007? http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Gotoh_Tuners/Gotoh_Vintage-style_Oval_Knob_Tuners.html
james_edward
Yes they'll work, but you'll need the conversion bushings, almost certainly your headstock has 10mm holes.
