rdsmith3
I'm really intrigued by this guitar, with the push/pull pots for coil splitting Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro Usually the reviews at GC and Musicians Friend are favorable for just about every guitar. I almost think they are written by "ringers". The 2 reviews for this guitar are not very favorable, though. Hmmmm. anyway, is $100 off a good deal for one of the Condition 2 guitars? It sort of doesn't matter because money is tight right now and $400 for a guitar would be a tough sell at home.
Xaj
Hey rd, You might want to look at Jim's post on the Traditional Pro. Might help you with your questions: Jim's LP Traditional post
rdsmith3
Thanks. I must have missed it. It's not helping me reduce my GAS sickness, and it just confirms what I was thinking -- I really want the wine red model.
Xaj
I understand you. I have to control myself though But then, I have GAS everytime a I see a Les Paul. That doesn't help. And with the Epi LP Joe Bonamassa coming out and the Slash AFD also coming out, I am certainly going to be very sick

Muskank Sally
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro and I enjoy it very much. In fact as of today I've owned it for a month! I paid $100 less using the 20% coupon..."Whoops, that didn't work"....or was it just a very nice salesman? Sometimes if the coupon fails a great salesman may enter his own 'bypass' code and sneak you a deal. It has been done for me. On this guitar but I did have the coupon in hand (pulled from the GC site) and a 'don't let me down' look in my eye. Came out OK, but honestly the whole day was spent trying to get that deal. I worked with an unreceptive salesman that morning just to return that evening to a surprise ending.. the deal I needed and the guitar I wanted. It had to be ordered but arrived at the store in 3 days. Wow!

My Epiphone Les Paul Custom Midnight. She's difficult to photograph because of her finish, so I'm not too happy with the end result but that's what I got. Originally, she came with two EMGs 81/81 but I put an 85 on the neck:

No' date=' I missed the display model by just a couple of days. The first salesman I dealt with was very 'I don't know' during his online search of statewide stores and the dist. center and came back 'Nope, no Pro's between here and Virginia or Atlanta...none in transit within 1000 miles" and it was discouraging But later that day I went back and had it ordered directly from GC and it was tracked and delivered in 3 days. No complaints out of that situation whatsoever! Here's a photo of the guitar now. I added gold hat knobs and a Gibson TP-6 tailpiece. She Rocks! rdsmith3
How would you describe the neck on the Traditional Pro? I have a Dot right now, which has a thicker neck (which I like).

[/quote'] Wonderful. Nice comfortable feel with just the right thickness. about the same as my other LP without the poly. It's very simple If I had to compare it to a Gibson neck, again I would have to say play a Gibson Les Paul Studio 'Blackout' (60's profile neck, faded satin black/chrome hardware, $799) and there you have it. rdsmith3
If anyone is interested, Musicians Friend has a couple of lightly used ones for $300 each. You can use the code NEW2U to get another 10% off, which brings the price to $270. You also get free shipping. The 10% and free shipping are limited time offers. I am not able to buy this at the moment, but thought I would let others know. Les Paul Traditional PRO
