Sheraton with Bigsby – Will It Fit?

Hi all. I'm new to the forum as my first Epiphone just arrived – a black Sheraton. It's a great guitar, but I'm already challenged with a problem. I fear it won't fit in a case.

I purchased the guitar with a Bigsby tremolo unit installed. It was mounted using one of those no-drill kits and obviously beefs up the profile of this guitar. I can't imagine it fitting in a standard 335 style case.

Wondering if anyone else out there has encountered the same issue – or if it even is an issue.

Also curious about the stock pickups. Finding that they lack a little definition. Anyone here try the Gibson p94 t?

Thanks for the help.

I think the Epiphone 335-shape case fits one with a Bigsby. I looked into this after considering putting a Bigsby on my Casino. It fits one with a Bigsby B7 at least.

Yeah, a regular Bigsby should fit no problem. But look how far that contraption extends past the body. Best advice, try it before you buy it!!!

Yeah, I can wedge a finger in between the body and the Bigsby at the strap button! But it seems to play really nice.

Might consider affixing the Bigsby permanently to the guitar to get rid of all that excess metal, besides the kit makes it un-strap-lockable as the screw has to be so long to connect to the body.

B7 or B70 or B700. *black*

look, I never understand at all this silliness of not drilling into an epiphone.

you increase the value of the guitar with adding a bigsby, not decrease.

that's a monster, and except for a neat looking whammy handle it's a pain in the neck.

with a reg. bigs you can have your straplocks, fit your case, and it will perform perfectly.

to me, beg your pardon, that looks like something my mechanic would dream up.

think of how clean a b7/70/700 would lookon there!

As for the holes left by the removal of the tailpiece.. I'm just gonna be totally frank..

two little white dots of black guard material.. or white... or a plate with your name on it.. or a plain plate..

or one that says customized for bob.. whatever..

It can't look worse than all those metal plates.. it's easy, too.

grumpy today aint I?

Dang, you are grumpy!

I have to agree, I think it looks a bit wonky – but I'm not the original owner. I got it for a couple hundred and it came loaded with the Bigsby and upgraded Grover Imperial tuners – so how can I argue. I don't think I'd be so concerned with drilling holes in a 2009 Epiphone as the original owner was – who kept it almost a whole year, by the way.

I decided to give it to my guitar guy with the instruction "please figure this out". Good news, he thinks it will fit the case fine as is. But we'll see what he can do with it.

We'll see what happens.

My best guess is the "one-size-fits-all" doesn't exactly ring true. Underneath there are a couple plastic and felt spacers that makeup the gap as well as an extra-long screw for the strap button. Mind you, not my doing. I will say though after a proper setup with some heavier strings (11's) it plays really nice.

Still not impressed with the stock pickups though.
