uwe h
hola compadre! This place looks kind of derelict (adding to Gibson's unfortunate bass-oblivious image), I thought I'd freshen things up a little.
rd_artist
no one else has anything to say about Gibson basses because 1.they are so reliable there is'nt much to say 2. it seems that they are all owned by one person.
uwe h
no one else has anything to say about Gibson basses because 1.they are so reliable there is'nt much to say 2. it seems that they are all owned by one person. If only! If reliability was a decisive factor, all Fender bass forums would have to close down immediately! Not such a bad idea if you think about it , but we'd still not have any real public appreciation of the wealth of Gibson's bass kingdom.
Golem
` My Gibby is an SG Supreme ... not [yet] broken. More typically Gibson-esque .... I was in the local GC and one of the staff was wanking away on an old SG. I figgered he was checking it out before he allowed it in trade .... but he played on and on and on [GC style]. So I says to him "Looky, it's an old Gibby. Why are you listening to it? You should be looking for a broken headstock joint." So HE SAYS: "Naw this one's OK ... it ain't fallen over yet" and then he shows me the back side of the headstock .... which has a huge not-repaired splintery crack ... And he says "Oopzzz... " {GC style]. ------ ------- --- BTW, turns out he was NOT trying out a trade-in but he's a repair tech, and it's in for new strings [pleaze stop laffin now] and you gotta bleeb that this customer's 'repair receipt' for picking up his re-strung ax does not specify an already-broken headstock joint .... "Jeeezzizz doooodz .... you musta titan up my string way too much !" GC and Gibson ... a match made in heaven :-/ `
