Ken Rayba
Has anybody been using the Gibson Brite Wire guitar strings on their 335's, etc? I've been using Ernie Balls, 10 - 46 and was thinking about trying them out. I believe they maybe a bit brighter due to the nickel-plated steel. The description of the Brite Wires vs. the Ernie Balls, is the type of nickel plated and their core of string.
L5Larry
I guess you meant "strings for semi-hollow bodies". A thread about strings for hollow-bodies is a completely different discussion.
jmjohnson
I do, they came on my 335, and I installed them on my 336 - they are fine. I also use Vintage Reissue and the Humbucker Alloy ones.
ES345
I have flat wounds on all of my hollow/semi hollow body guitars. generally thought of strings for jazz but try a set, they are definitely on the mellow scale.
Captain Bb
Light top, heavy bottom d'addarios on mine.
AlanC
I use Ernie Ball Power Slinkies (11-48) on my semi hollowbodies but use D'Addario or George Benson flatwounds (12- 53)on my hollowbodies. Both work for me but I use my semi hollows for different material more blues/rock whereas my archtops I use for jazz pretty much only.
