Daryl M
The musicial genres have cross pollinated to the point that it's hard for me to say. "I like rock-I hate country" or vice versa. Depending on who you ask, AC/DC, Peter Paul and Mary, and Tom Jones were all 'rock stars'. Lefty Frizzell, Dolly Parton, and Keith Urban are 'Country stars'. Styles are far too diverse now to say that country music is all cheating and drinking songs and rock is all drugs and party songs. To me, its a good thing. If not for the influence and blending, we wouldn't have genre-bender artist like these.
milod
Daryl... Right on target... As I've written before, cross-influences in music are what makes our current music what it is - it's more a matter of degree what "style" a piece is rather than an absolute. m
Kiwi
To further stir up confusion about the country genre, would you consider this to be somewhat country-inclined? I think she's a fantastic perfomer, which isn't exactly the first thing most would say about supermodels turned singer. Plus, she's Jack White's wife, so... yeah
