1984 Guy
I made some Valve Jr. clips for folks who might be interested in a small tube amp that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. They sound very authentic on my computer. Your computers speakers will have the biggest impact on the true sound. Feel free to download the clips and listen on real equipment. http://superrick.bandcamp.com/album/valve-jr
Cheeks
I listened to all 3 examples. Nice job recording. I had a invite over to a rich friend's mansion about a week ago and he let me plug-in my new Epi LUCILLE into his brand new Peavey Delta Blues amp... I played for 15 minutes straight through... and all he could do was freak out listening.... These tube type amps sound pretty... but i still don't want the high voltages and fussing of tubes... replacing tubes, checking tubes... yadda.... I am thinking of maybe a Peavey TransTube solid stater in the future... good nuff for me. I have no respect for high voltage required tubes and their circuits. They are a pain in maintenance... I used to fix and restore antique radios & even antique TVs. No thanks ! CHEEKS
1984 Guy
Thanks. It was a 10 second setup job but they came out alright. I'm as far from being a tube snob as can be but I have yet to have a single problem with both VJrs that I have. Three years and zero problems. One has around 600 hours use and the other closer to 400. As a matter of fact I have never had a problem with any amp I have had or have. Tube or ss. That said, the TransTube amps are quite nice.
