Hello there guys, my names Pete and im 22 and from England. There has been a Gibson J45 in my family for a few years now. My Grandma remembers paying £50 for this 'beginners' guitar back in the early 1960's. It has been passed down to me as i used to play a lot of guitar and have done for years but im really trying to just trace this guitar back to find out exactly how old it is and find out some rough estimations of what its worth now. I should have attached a picture so hopefully you can see it, the serial number at the back is barely readable but the numbers are 820662. Im sure ive come to the right place for help, thanks for reading and i look forward to hearing from you guys. Cheers, Pete.post-25708-019814300 1284682203_thumb.jpg

Looks like a B25 to me. I've seen a couple of 12 string versions for sale in Denmark St for around £850-£900, over the last year or so.

If you google Gibson B25 and surf around, you'll get some good info.

There are plenty of very knowledgable people here (not me) so sit tight and hopefully someone will oblige with some more info.
