Californiaman
So I'm watching Aerosmith's biography on the Birography channel last night. Not at any point during the program did they feature even a snipit of the bands music. They focused on the toxic twins, the spilled milk, the breakup and the band getting back together and sober. At no time did they feature any of the bands music. Terrible! Waste of time in my opinion. Would have been a lot better if they had some of the music. That's my take on it. Rather week bio. NeoConMan
Yeah, they've done that with several big bands. Led Zep, Heart, Meatloaf, Skynyrd come immediately to mind. I think there are legal issues with broadcasting the band's music or tracking required of play time. I can add two other points of contention; Didja notice that the music used in the show was very similar to a couple of their big songs? Just not close enough to get sued... Also, they've gone in to add updated footage to most of those shows and changed the date to 2009 or 2010. 90% of the shows were made nearly a decade ago, so if you saw 'em before there's really nothing new. There's interesting stuff from a storytelling point of view, but not a lot for a fan learn.
Californiaman
I did notice about the footage. Also, some of the music was close. Kind of a funky deal there. I get the not wanting to get sued thing. Yeah and the interesting stuff we learned was really nothing new.
