poboy975
Hi, my dad gave me his old guitar. He says he bought it new in 1957 while he was in college. He had to replace the tuning pegs about 10 years ago as the original plastic had completely crumbled. The serial number is 6 5107. it sounds great and plays awesome! I'm hoping to find some either original replacement tuning pegs, or reissue tuning pegs for this guitar. as you can see in the pictures the original pegs were on a strip instead of the individual pegs that are sold today. ps. any idea what this would be worth? i have absolutely no intention of ever selling this guitar for any reason, just curious. here is a link to my photo album on facebook http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=236267&id=649818963&l=48d7ba96be
Grog
Nice Guitar!! Kluson is making the proper tuners again, here's the link. Your's would be the type in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Hopefully he didn't drill the holes in the headstock bigger when he changed them. http://www.kluson.com/PRODUCTS.htm
poboy975
great thanks very much! those look like the original according to my dad. he said he didn't change any existing holes at all, only added a couple of small screw holes for the new pegs.. which should be covered by the plate. retrorod
Great looking Jr. ! As a vintage guitar enthusiast, I can,t stand to look at those chrome replacement tuners. You would be far better served if you installed the Kluson 3-0n-plate with plastic buttons! Just for looks if nothing else. Just my .02cents worth. Did you get to play this guitar while growing up? Nice gift! Enjoy, Retrorod
