Haulin' the clinkers up out of the basement. Then after a couple weeks when my muscles got built up, I got to fill the automatic coal stoker. TommyK Posted October 27, 2010 Share Posted October 27, 2010 When my dad upgraded from coal to fuel oil, (had to as the local Coal & Lumber yard quit delivering coal), he had no trouble getting rid of the stoker. The stoker had an auger that ran super slowly to move the coal into the bottom of the furnace. This slow auger speed was effected by an electric motor and a super reduction gear box.
