sg classic or sg special

im buying a new guitar for my b day and i found some cool sg guitars either an sg classic or a sg special does anyone have one and if so can you tell me how it feels and sounds,thanks

i would pick the sg classic! it screams better than the humbucking guitar, i like the p90s punchy crunchy tone!! planning to get it though..

yeah,i love the sg but iv never tried p90s with it only really gibson hums and my band is starting to record so i need something really good sounding

My Classic makes me smile. A lot.

 

It doesn't have that 'budget' sentiment, it's got a bound neck although it just has dots and white button tuners. I reckon it makes it look very 60s. People often ask me how old it is.

 

As for the pickups, you need to decide on that one. If you do go for the Classic I'd strongly recommend changing the 300k pots for 500k. You'll notice a huge improvement in bite and growl.

 

I went a step further and put Jason Lollar P90s in mine. Wow, it is the meanest, rudest, angriest SG you've ever heard!
