RLM69
I recently purchased a new ES-339 and noticed the saddles of the bridge where the strings rest have grooves cut into them. Is this normal? I have owned a 69 SG Standard, and 87 Les Paul Studio and don't remember the saddles cut with grooves. The grooves are also offset from the center of the adjustment screws. Please advise. Thank you for your help, Rickie Millen

Sproggie
Hi Rickie, Mine is exactly the same This is normal. When I bought mine I wasn't sure I'd done the right thing. It wouldn't stay in tune but after carefully easing out the nut it improved a lot. It also got a lot better after a few weeks of acclimatising to my temperatures and humidities. It's now very stable and always the first guitar I pick up. It's a great guitar.
