supernova1281734074 Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Why did Epiphone make Elite/Elitist guitars?? They're fantastic, but not true vintage specs, although close. I have a Sheraton Elitist and the sides and rear are stained brown, which is correct,but the truss rod cover is 3 screw instead of 2, truss rod cover says elitist, instead of an E, and seems longer than the original. Tuning pegs are different,and on the neck has parallel lines on the rosewood neck, which don't appear to be on the original model - just wondered why they did this?? brianh Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Maybe because that's what the production lines were set up for...or maybe it was a cost thing...or maybe the design changes were made to keep ne'er do wells from passing them off as vintage.
