Searcy Posted March 5, 2011 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Most humbucker makers don't give much thought to making pickups for the middle position. If you're picking between a neck and bridge pickup to install in the middle position your best bet would be to just use a neck position pickup so that the middle pickup isn't much louder then the bridge pickup. As Searcy says, a "neck" labeled pickup is what would go in the middle position. Since there were so few three humbucker guitars made, nobody "markets" a "middle" pickup.
