Amp troubles :/

I recently got a free Crate GX 15 L, little practice amp... I plugged in my Epi LP Studio Deluxe... No noise, whatsoever. Even when cranked to max volume and gain, no buzz or anything. I tried switching out cables. Nothing. Even switched over to my other LP Studio... Still nothing, but I did notice that the tuner worked on it, so it must be getting a signal. Any ideas why this would be?

Another quick question on behalf of a friend of mine... If it were up to you, would you buy a Epi Dot, Casino, or Sheraton? I know there are major differences in them all, but what do the masses on this board prefer??

for the amp troubles i have no idea... so i wont wander into that territory... as for which of the hollow bodies is best... it largely depends on his playing style... the Casino is a full hollow body, and the Dot and Sheraton are Semi Hollow bodies... the way i see it the Sheraton II is the supped up version of the Dot... more frills in the Sheraton II but i believe they use the same pickups (even perhaps the same woods)... GENERALLY (don't take me out cause of this) the hollow body Casino is great for Jazz and Blues and obviously covering various amounts of Beatles songs... and the Dot and Sheraton can be used pretty much in any genre of music: Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Metal (to a certain extent) the Semi Hollows are just more agile than the Casino is. my opinions aside you should ask your friend to go visit a music store and develop his own opinions... which does HE thinks plays best? sound best? which genre fits the best?

as for what i prefer? i own all 3 :P The Casino in Cherry (original), Sheraton II in ebony (Burst Bucker 2's in the bridge and 57+ Classic in neck), and the Dot Deluxe original :P i just love double cutaway hollow bodies...

My answer will be simple - if you don't know electronics well, just bring it to a tech. But first check if there's any sound throught the headphones, if yes - that would really narrow down the probable causes.

I have an LP for humbuckers, so I would go with the Casino. Besides, if I had more money at the day of purchase, Casino would have been my choice.

That's what I was trying to tell him... He already has a Gibby LP, so why not get the Casino [confused]

I tried bringing the amp to Guitar Center... but apparently they don't do amp repairs... Lame. I'll find some other place I suppose.

Also, no sound through the headphones! <_<
