shameaboutj
Hi I'm looking for some help please I have a Gibson SG Hard shell case, one of the rivets has come out (and been lost) from the metal clasp that holds the leather handle down. Does anyone happen to know the type and size of the rivets Gibson use on these cases? My local guitar shop quoted me £40 to fix it, which seemed a bit steep to replace one rivet! so I'm going to try and fix it myself. thanks in advance for any help
mojjett
Hi shameaboutj, Try emailing Gibsons Repair & Restoration in the Support section. It may take awhile for a reply, but they should get back to you. I emailed them recently & got a reply in about a week. cheers
L5Larry
A guitar case is nothing but an oddly shaped piece of luggage. Any luggage repair (or shoe repair) shop can fix you right up in minutes for a few bucks (or pounds as it were).
Bookkeeper's Son
I recently did a similar repair to a case. I used a binding post that I got at Home Depot for a dollar. They come in various lengths, in aluminum and nylon. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202707069/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
