ES175 vs Emperor Swingster

The Epi 175 is all maple, plain wood. The Swingster has a spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, and, like the Joe Pass Emperor II it is at heart, is generally a better made guitar. Not only fancier appointments, but more attention to detail and finish work. Among Epiphone 16" jazzbozes, the 175 is a Chevy, the Swingster is a Buick and the Joe Pass is a Cadillac. Or if you prefer Ford analogies, the 175 is a Ford, the Swingster is a Mercury or Thunderbird, and the Joe Pass is a Lincoln.

Interesting. So that Epi Joe Pass I found locally on Craigs for $450bo might be a better deal than a new 175 for $500?

Hrrmmm... florentine or venetian cutaway... tough choice..
