cjmwrx Posted September 11, 2011 Share Posted September 11, 2011 Ordered one of the VHT Special 6. What a special little fella this is. Very happy with the purchase. Single ended 12AX7/6V6. Comes with a footswitch to turn the boost circuit on. Point to Point eyelet board. Already upgraded the tubes with a Mesa pre and a GT 6V6. Done there. Sounds great. Sounds amazing through my Mesa cab. Picked up a used Mesa 2x12 Rectifier extension for my Rect-o-Verb. It's tone is now complete. V30s inside. Closed back, and I got a half back panel with it. DiamondJig Posted September 11, 2011 Share Posted September 11, 2011 VHT +1 the Special 6 is a great little amp, try their EL84 tube converter some time http://www.instrumentalley.com/VHT-Special-6-EL84-Tube-Socket-Adapter-p/av-sp-ad.htm You can also change the 6V6 to an EL34 without any converters.
