'52 Gold Top?

I owned a real 1953 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop (from before the changeover to the stopbar) for many years and let me tell you, the shallow neck angle and trapeze tailpiece are less than ideal for modern playing. The biggest downfall is that you can't palm mute with the trapeze at all - it just mutes the strings since they run under the bar.

Gibson did a reissue in 2002 for the 50th anniversary, but I think most of those were probably bought as collector's items more than as players.

It wouldn't surprise me if Epiphone did some kind of anniversary model, but it would surprise me if they did one with the trapeze.
