Homz Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 I don't know about u'all but I think the typical LP volume / tone knobs look cheep. I did some cosmetic alterations on my Standard. I like the results. I replaced the knobs with chrome ringed and acrylic ones. I also changed the rhythm / treble plate with a chromed one that says Mischief / Mayhem. Lastly the truss rod cover was replaced with a mother of pearl one that has my last name on it. In the 50's when plastic was still a new thing I suppose those old style cosmetics looked good. I wish Gibson would update these small things and join the 21st century. This wouldn't take away from the classic beauty of the LP. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
