fretplay
Got a chance of buying an ES 225 haven't seen it yet but was wondering if any members had played/owned one. What concerns me is the 50s necks they can sometimes be a little large and baseball bat like. Not sure what they are like on the Es225, your comments appreciated guys
Versatile
IMO the ES 225 is a total beauty Personally I like a variety of neck profiles.... Nearest comparisons would be ES 330(P90's, slim-ish neck) and ES 137(H/B's, fat-ish neck).... V
vincentw
most of these guitars, ES225 and ES125, are tone-monsters.

Not sure what they are like on the Es225 I played a '58 about a year ago. The neck was very comfortable & not the least bit chunky.
JimR56
I played a '58 about a year ago. The neck was very comfortable & not the least bit chunky. Makes sense. The 225 is one of the few Gibson hollowbodies I've never owned or played, but I've had similar models, and they didn't put hefty/beefy necks on lightweight, fully hollow thinline models like this. dougg330
I had a single pickup'58 ES-225 for a while. Neck was bigger than a 60's profile, but still very comfy. However, I was bothered by the PU placement - it was right where I pick, so I had to be conscious of that and try to change my habits. Great sounding guitar, though. fretplay
Thanks for your advise guys but is a Es225 just a Es330 with a Florentine cutaway?
