NiceGuyEddie
Hi...I just purchased a 2011 lp custom in wine red on ebay. I guess i should have asked if it was ebony or richlite fingerboard. I didnt get it yet and it wasnt in the description. Does anyone know how to tell the difference visually? Were these made in 2011?

NiceGuyEddie
2011 were Ebony. I hope so, everything on ebay advertised as 2012 is either rosewood or richlite! I hope the retailers let the buyers know wht they are getting.
AXE®
Some of the early 2012 models were ebony. Not sure of the exact change date.
NiceGuyEddie
will do...thanks . I checked the serial number...it is a 2010. The seller thought it was a 2011. Besides, upon inspection it was clearly ebony. It is not as "black" as some other customs I have, but ebony nonetheless. P.s. it sounds fantastic. I think that a les paul custom is one of the best sounding lesters.
