billy
Admin could you give me the neck profile measurements for '57 '58 '59 '60 reissue les pauls. I know they differ slightly so could you just give the average at the 1st and 12th frets on each model. thanks.
Custom Admin
the r7, r8, and r9 are all .900 at the 1st and 1.00 at the 12th, but they are shaped differently so that the r7 and r8 feel fatter than the r9. the ro is .800 at the 1st and .875 at the 12th. billy
Thanks Admin. So how do the shapes differ. Also what is the '60 like shape wise, I've heard they can be quite flat is this true or are they more rounded. thanks.
Custom Admin
the r7 and r8 are big and round, very chunky. the r9 is just...slimmer. i don't really know how to describe it to you. the r0 necks do tend to be a bit flat, particularly closer to the headstock. billy
So which is closest to the slash profile on his custom shop guitar with the fishman in dark tobacco finish. thanks.
Custom Admin
the slash is sort of in between the r9 and the r0. probably closer to an r9.
econtras
I have the 60 RI and it is a little flat right near the headstock but c shaped throughout, but for my hands, it just feels right. My old 57 RI Cust used to feel like a baseball bat. But the slim taper on the 60RI still feels a little thicker than the Gibson USA slim tapers. Maybe it's just me. The best way to tell is just to try them out, I know that is not always possible. Good Luck billy. That Slash guitar looks cool. I like the Warren Haynes model too. I would go to a thick neck for that one.
billy
So whats the '60 reissue neck like compared to a USA standard with the 50's neck which i used to have. thanks.
Custom Admin
the '60 would be slimmer...it's the slimmest normal production neck we do.
