Blaster Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Does anyone offer a replacement saddle for the Advanced Jumbo? This is the long one that slides in the bridge base and is curved at the ends to compliment the bridge base. I'd like to keep the original one stock, and get a replacement one in fossilized bone to match the new endpins I bought for it. Thanks for any advice.
guitarstrummer Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I believe Bob Colosi will duplicate any saddle in whatever material you'd like. You can either send him your measurements or the original saddle. I've never seen the long Gibson saddles sold anywhere. It might be because the bridges differ on different models enough to where it would be tough to get it close to accurate, since the wings of the saddle should be flush with the bridge. http://www.guitarsaddles.com/
crankykentucky Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Did you try calling Gibson Customer Service in Montana? Otherwise, the Colosi tip is the way to go. I thought Gibson was using bone on some of the custom shop AJ's before the re-design of the model line. Let us know what you come up with, ok?
Blaster Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks for the replies and good suggestions. I've decided to shape my own, which I've done before. I've ordered s blank of fossilized walrus ivory that should match the same material bridge pins.
