stevey
hi, i have this guitar (LP custom) since many years (love it to bits) - always thought it was 051502. just discovered today that it really looks more like C51502. does it make any difference? thanks, stevey. Custom Admin
noone of the numbers you've listed come up for me. i think you may still be misreading it somehow...
stevey
thank you very much custom admin. i just took a real close look at the numbers. the imprints of the zeros are very soft but looking at them from really really really close the first one could be a 6 and the second one a 9. so i think it says 651592. thanks again, stevey. Custom Admin
if this is a LP with a 6-digit serial number, it is from the '60s or '70s. the database i use to research serial numbers only goes back to the late 1980s. so, unfortunately, there's really nothing more i can tell you about this one. sorry about that. stevey
yes it only has 6 digits, no "made in the usa." imprint, it's very very heavy, has (very old) kluson tuners and the volume and tone controls are black/transparent with tiny little letters on top of them and the nut seems to be made out of bone (?). what i see on the inside is the maple top, but no sandwich maple layer in the body so i asume it's an early 1969 make. anyways ... it's the best sounding guitar i ever had and i will be happy playing it forever without knowing when or where exactly it was made :-) thanks again to custom admin and all the other gibson loving people.
